Initial flashing of Netgear RAX40

The prplWrt build process creates a special signed image that is meant for initially flashing prplWrt on a device with the Netgear stock firmware. This image is located in:

bin/targets/intel_mips/xrx500/

and is named

NETGEAR_RAX40-squashfs-fullimage.signed

The Web-UI of the Netgear RAX40 only accepts files ending on .img as valid for the firmware upgrade process. Therefore before using the signed image for firmware flashing it is required to rename it (i.e. simply adding .img at the end of the file name). You can then use the firmware upgrade function of the Netgear firmware to change the firmware to prplWrt.
